What's New for 2027

What's New for 2027

The main change for the 2027 Kicks is the Rock Creek package, which Nissan offers on this model for the first time. It goes on the SV grade instead of standing as a separate grade, and it always comes with AWD. Nissan prices it as its own version, the Kicks Rock Creek AWD.

Rock Creek adds this equipment to the SV:

  • Off-road driving: Hill Descent Control and selectable terrain modes, including an Off-Road mode.
  • Camera, sonar and braking: an Around View Monitor, front and rear sonar, and Rear Automatic Braking.
  • Roof: a roof rack with cross bars.
  • Exterior: a black grille, a black front bumper, black 17-inch alloy wheels and mirror turn signals.
  • Cabin: a TailorFit leatherette steering wheel, cloth/leatherette seats and ambient lighting.

The 2027 Kicks keeps the same grades, engine output and EPA ratings as the 2026 model, and its length and NHTSA overall rating carry over too. Launch prices rose slightly, from $20 more on the SV FWD to $370 more on the SV AWD. If a 2026 Kicks is also on your list, read about the 2026 Nissan Kicks to compare the two.

Which 2027 Kicks Trim Should You Choose?

Which 2027 Kicks Trim Should You Choose?

Choosing a 2027 Kicks comes down to 4 questions: S or SV, FWD or AWD, SV or Rock Creek, and SV or SR for driver assistance.

S or SV: Even the S has the touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto that come on every 2027 Kicks. Stepping up to the SV FWD adds $1,700 at launch for comforts you notice every day, like keyfob remote start on a cold morning and wireless charging for your phone. The SV also opens up options the S doesn't offer, including the Cold Weather Package, a moonroof and two-tone paint.

FWD or AWD: AWD adds $1,500 to the S, $2,000 to the SV and $1,800 to the SR at launch. On the SV and SR, that money also buys heated seats that FWD buyers can add only with the $300 Cold Weather Package, and on the SV it swaps steel wheels for machine-finished alloys. With AWD, you give up some cargo room and a little fuel economy: an AWD Kicks holds about 5 cubic feet less behind the rear seat than an SV or SR with FWD, and its EPA combined rating is 1 MPG lower.

If you leave early on snowy mornings in Hamilton County, AWD helps the Kicks get moving on snow and slush. It won't help you stop any sooner, so good tires still matter.

Compared with the 2027 Sentra, a front-wheel-drive-only sedan, the Kicks is an SUV with available AWD and more ground clearance.

SV or Rock Creek: Rock Creek is the highest-priced 2027 Kicks at launch, so choose it for what it adds and not as an automatic step up. It suits trail weekends, thanks to its off-road driving tools. It doesn't sit any higher, though, because ground clearance is the same on every version. Rock Creek also has no moonroof, so if you'd rather have a panoramic moonroof, choose the SV with the SV Premium Package, which was $950 at launch. If crossbars are all you want from the Rock Creek, the SV can take a port-installed set for $375 at launch.

SV or SR: The SR costs $2,500 more than the SV with FWD at launch and $2,300 more with AWD, and most of what it adds is driver assistance. It brings ProPILOT Assist 1.0, a hands-on driver-assist system that works with the cruise control. The SR's cruise control also keeps working in stop-and-go traffic. The SR Premium Package, $1,600 at launch, adds a panoramic moonroof, a heated steering wheel and Bose Personal Plus audio with 10 speakers. If your commute runs down I-69, the SR is the version to drive first.

For most drivers around Fishers, we'd start with the SV. Choose the SV FWD to keep the price down and add heated seats as an option, or the SV AWD if you want AWD with heated seats already included.

Engine, Transmission and Fuel Economy

Engine, Transmission and Fuel Economy

A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) power every 2027 Kicks, and the engine runs on regular gasoline. Engine output is the same with either drive, while the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ratings dip slightly with AWD.

Specification FWD AWD

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2027 Kicks adds Rock Creek, a first-ever package for the SV with AWD that brings off-road driving tools and black exterior styling. The engine output and fuel economy carry over from 2026, and launch prices went up by $20 to $370 depending on the version.

The SV is the right starting point for most drivers. The SV FWD keeps the price down, and with AWD the SV adds winter traction and heated seats as standard. Choose the Rock Creek for trail weekends, the SR for the most driver assistance, or the S FWD if the lowest launch price matters most.

The 2027 Kicks launched at $22,790 MSRP for the S FWD, and the highest-priced version, the SV Rock Creek AWD, launched at $28,840. AWD adds $1,500 to $2,000 at launch, depending on the grade. You can start your Nissan Kicks shopping with us online.

The Rock Creek package is what's new for 2027. Nissan kept the engine output, EPA ratings, length and NHTSA overall rating the same, and the main package prices are unchanged. Launch prices moved up a little, by $20 to $370 depending on the version. See last year's Kicks for the 2026 details.

Choose the Kicks if you want an SUV with more ground clearance and AWD available on every grade. Choose the 2027 Sentra if you'd rather drive a sedan and don't need AWD, since it's front-wheel drive only.

No. Rock Creek is an SV with an added package, and it's sold only with all-wheel drive. Nissan lists it as its own version, which launched at $28,840. It has no moonroof.

No. Each grade comes with front-wheel drive or AWD, and the Rock Creek is the one version sold only with AWD. Choosing AWD on the SV or SR also brings heated seats as standard, and on the SV it adds heated mirrors too.

A 2027 Kicks with front-wheel drive is EPA-rated 28 MPG city, 35 highway and 31 combined. AWD versions are rated 27 city, 34 highway and 30 combined, and every version runs on regular gasoline.

Behind the rear seat, the S FWD holds 30 cubic feet, the SV FWD and SR FWD hold 29.2, and every AWD version holds 23.9. Fold the rear seat down and those numbers grow to 60.0, 58.5 and 50.1 cubic feet.

NHTSA gives the Kicks a 4-star overall rating with either drive, along with 3 stars for front crash, 5 for side crash and 4 for rollover. Every version also comes standard with Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
