2027 Nissan Murano in Fishers: Trims, Prices and the New Dark Armor

For 2027, Nissan reworked the Murano's trim lineup.

• A new Dark Armor trim: It slots in between the SL and the Platinum and wears gloss black exterior accents and Dark Armor badges.
• No more SV: The 2026 lineup was SV, SL and Platinum. For 2027, the SV is gone, so the SL is now the starting point.
• A higher starting price: With the SL as the entry trim, the 2027 lineup started higher at launch than the 2026 lineup, which launched at $41,670 for the SV.

These carry over from 2026:

• The engine's output, the 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive
• The EPA ratings and fuel tank size
• The length, wheelbase and cargo space behind the rear seat
• Seating for 5, the towing and payload ratings and the 5-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

Each 2027 Murano trim adds to the one below it. Nissan announced these launch MSRPs in August 2026.

Choosing a 2027 Murano trim comes down to what you want to add to the SL, which already has the full set of standard safety and driver-assist features. On the Platinum, the Technology Package adds more of both.

SL or Dark Armor: At launch, the Dark Armor cost $3,000 more than the SL. It adds Google built-in with Google Maps, while the SL has no built-in navigation and relies on your phone's maps through wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It also adds a panoramic moonroof. Without one, the SL has more front head room, a difference taller drivers can feel.

Dark Armor or Platinum: At launch, the Platinum cost $2,800 more than the Dark Armor. Most of that goes to comfort features, such as semi-aniline quilted leather and front seats that heat, ventilate and massage. If you often carry passengers in back through Hamilton County winters, the Platinum heats the rear outboard seats, an upgrade they'll notice. The Platinum is also the only trim that can add the Technology Package.

Platinum with the Technology Package: Adding the Technology Package brought a Platinum to $53,090 MSRP at launch. The package includes ProPILOT Assist 2.1 with driver monitor and a head-up display, among other equipment. If the standard ProPILOT Assist already suits the way you drive, you can skip it.

Choose the SL if price and front head room come first, the Dark Armor if you want the moonroof, built-in Google Maps and Bose sound, and the Platinum if seat comfort and the Technology Package are worth the step up.

Murano or Kicks: If the Murano is more SUV than you need, the 2027 Nissan Kicks also seats 5 and offers all-wheel drive. Against a Kicks with AWD, the Murano is 21 inches longer, with 100 more horsepower and more cargo space behind the rear seat, while the Kicks gets better EPA ratings, 30 MPG combined against the Murano's 23. At launch, the Kicks S with AWD was $24,290 MSRP, $19,700 less than the Murano SL.

Every 2027 Murano shares one powertrain, so the engine, transmission and all-wheel drive stay the same from the SL to the Platinum.

Because the powertrain doesn't change by trim, neither do the EPA ratings, so moving up costs you nothing in fuel economy.

Every trim is rated to tow up to 1,500 lb. That's a light-duty rating, so check the loaded weight of whatever you plan to tow before you hitch up. Payload is 899 lb on every trim: 4 adults averaging 175 lb use 700 lb of it, leaving about 200 lb for bags and gear. The gross combined weight rating, the most the loaded Murano and its trailer may weigh together, is 6,779 lb.

Every 2027 Murano seats 5 in 2 rows, with the same leg room and cargo space on every trim. Front head room and passenger volume are a little lower on the Dark Armor and the Platinum, which have a panoramic moonroof.

Fold the rear seat flat and the cargo space nearly doubles. If you need a third row, though, the 2-row Murano won't be the right fit.

Central Indiana winters mean cold mornings, snow and salted roads, and every 2027 Murano meets them with all-wheel drive and 8.3 inches of ground clearance. Winter comfort builds as you move up the lineup: heated front seats and heated mirrors come on every trim, the Dark Armor heats the steering wheel too, and the Platinum adds heated rear outboard seats. Remote start from the key fob or through NissanConnect is standard, so you can start the engine from indoors before a frosty commute.

On I-69, a full tank works out to roughly 500 miles at the highway EPA rating, or about 430 miles at the combined rating. Treat both as estimates, since your real-world range will vary. For rush-hour backups, ProPILOT Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control with traffic stop-go come standard on every trim.

Before you bring one home, check your garage: the Murano is 192.9 inches long and 67.9 inches tall, with a 78-inch body width.

The SL comes with a long list of safety, driver-assist and technology features, and both upper trims keep every one of them.

Because the SL already has all of this, moving up a trim adds comfort and convenience rather than more driver assistance. The exception is the Platinum's Technology Package, which brings ProPILOT Assist 2.1 with driver monitor.

NHTSA rates the 2027 Murano 5 stars overall, with 4 stars for frontal crash, 5 for side crash and 4 for rollover. Check NHTSA.gov for the newest results, since ratings can change as new tests are published.

Nissan's 2027 Murano palette has 7 single-tone colors and 4 two-tone colors with a Super Black roof, and the Dark Armor comes in 6 colors. At launch, the Two-Tone with Premium Paint option was $1,000 on the Dark Armor and Platinum.

Inside, the SL comes in Graphite or Gray Prima-Tex, the Dark Armor in Graphite perforated Prima-Tex, and the Platinum in Twilight Blue, Graphite or Ivory Caramel semi-aniline leather.
