Practical, roomy, and affordable, the 2025 Nissan LEAF is a great city car for environmentally conscious drivers. The base powertrain provides plenty of power for the average driver, but you can upgrade to a larger battery pack to get a longer range and more punch.

Electrifying Performance

Like its predecessor, the 2025 LEAF is made for city driving and comes with an efficient powertrain that pairs a 40 kWh battery with an electric motor that produces 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, providing confident handling in tough driving conditions.

If you want more power, the available 60 kWh battery provides 214 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. This system also pairs with standard front-wheel drive, but you can expect a more responsive ride and extra punch when needed.

Plenty of Range

Perfect for commuters, the new LEAF boasts excellent driving range, which is perfect for getting to work, driving the kids to school, and running errands. Both batteries boast fast-charging capability with 40 to 45 minutes charge times at public charging stations. The available wall charger replenishes the battery in eight to 11 hours.

Luxurious Comfort

Inside, the LEAF’s hatchback design translates to plenty of room for passengers and cargo. Both rows offer ample legroom, so even the tallest passengers can stretch. Direction control for the driver’s seat makes it easy to adjust the back and lateral support, while heated front seats come standard on the higher trim.

A rear cargo volume of 23.6 cubic feet provides plenty of room for daily essentials and up to seven carry-on suitcases. The cargo area is expandable behind the front seats, and the 60/40 split-fold design of the rear bench allows for a flexible configuration of the interior space.

Modern Tech

Connectivity is standard on the new LEAF, making it easy to stay in touch with loved ones or activate phone mirroring to use your favorite apps. Nissan’s infotainment interface provides an intuitive user experience and easy access to audio streaming apps. You can also pair your phone via Bluetooth to listen to your playlists or audiobooks.

Beyond infotainment, the LEAF boasts a digital instrument cluster and a wealth of convenience tech features, including Siri Eyes Free which enables voice control. You also get a variety of driver assistance technologies, while Nissan’s Connected Services and built-in navigation are optional.
