2026 Nissan Sentra Trim Guide: Which Trim Should You Buy?

For most shoppers, the 2026 Nissan Sentra SV is the trim to buy. A small step up from the S brings a digital driver display, automatic climate control and remote engine start, with no loss in fuel economy. The S costs the least and still has the big center touchscreen and wireless phone connection. The SR is the sporty one, with bigger wheels and black sport styling. The SL is the comfort and technology trim, with ProPILOT Assist and a moonroof already built in.

At Ed Martin Nissan of Fishers, we help drivers match a Sentra trim to a daily I-69 commute or a Central Indiana winter. Once a trim stands out, shop new Nissans with us online.

What Decides Your Sentra Trim

Every 2026 Sentra shares the same engine and transmission, so choosing a trim comes down to equipment. For most drivers here in Central Indiana, four things settle it.

Silver 2026 Nissan Sentra driving through a parking structure
  • Budget at launch

The full spread from the S to the SL is $5,390 at launch. The most useful comfort packages cost under $1,000.

  • Winter comfort

Any trim can get heated front seats, but the S never offers steering wheel heat or remote start.

  • Driver-assist technology

ProPILOT Assist helps control acceleration, braking and steering when needed, and it suits commutes through stop-and-go highway traffic. It is a hands-on system, so you keep your hands on the wheel. ProPILOT Assist and Rear Automatic Braking come only on the SL or with the SR's Premium Package. Driver-assist features have limitations.

  • Look and wheels versus fuel economy

SR and SL models ride on larger wheels and carry a slightly lower EPA highway estimate than the S or SV.

2026 Nissan Sentra Trims at a Glance

This table lines up the four 2026 Sentra trims with their launch prices, EPA-estimated fuel economy and the main equipment each one adds.

Trim MSRP at Launch EPA-Estimated MPG (City/Hwy/Combined) What It Adds
Sentra S $22,600 30/38/33 Base equipment, on 16-inch steel wheels with covers
Sentra SV $23,370 30/38/33 Over the S: 12.3-inch digital driver display; automatic climate control; Nissan Intelligent Key; key fob remote engine start; 16-inch machined alloy wheels; Drive Mode Selector with Sport mode
Sentra SR $25,000 29/36/32 Sporty take on the SV: 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels; sport exterior styling; wireless charger; six speakers; heated mirrors with LED turn signals; ambient lighting; LED signature lighting
Sentra SL $27,990 29/36/32 Top trim built from the SV: ProPILOT Assist; Rear Automatic Braking; Intelligent Around View Monitor; Bose Premium Audio; dual-zone climate control; moonroof; 17-inch machined alloy wheels

All four prices are the manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) from the 2026 Sentra's launch, and MSRP at launch excludes the $1,245 destination and handling charge. It also excludes tax, title and license fees plus any options, and we set the actual selling price.

Which 2026 Sentra Trim Is Right for You

Here is what each Sentra trim offers, what it gives up and who should pick it.

Sentra S: The Lowest Price at Launch

White 2026 Nissan Sentra S

The 2026 Sentra S is for shoppers who want a new car with a big touchscreen at the lowest launch price. It shares the center touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto of every other trim, plus the same standard driver-assist features.

What the S gives up is day-to-day comfort. The S has a 7-inch driver information display instead of the other trims' larger digital one, and the air conditioning is manual. The wheels are 16-inch steel with covers.

The S also uses a remote keyless entry fob, while the SV, SR and SL use the Nissan Intelligent Key. Every trim starts with a push button. Remote start from the key fob is on every trim except the S. Approach unlock with walk-away lock is standard on the SR and SL and part of the SV Convenience Package.

The S Cold Weather Package, $500 at launch, adds heated front seats and heated mirrors. The S cannot add a heated wheel or a moonroof at any price.

Choose the S if the lowest price matters most, such as for a first car or mostly short trips around town. Otherwise, the SV's automatic climate control is worth the step up. When you have a budget in mind, browse new Nissans with us.

Sentra SV: The Best Value for Most Shoppers

Black 2026 Nissan Sentra SV

Stepping up to the 2026 Sentra SV adds $770 to the launch price. That gap buys four things you notice on a daily drive:

  • A 12.3-inch digital gauge display, the same size as the center touchscreen
  • Automatic climate control instead of manual air conditioning
  • Nissan Intelligent Key in place of the S's remote keyless entry fob
  • Remote engine start from the key fob

The SV also moves to machined alloy wheels and premium cloth seats. The S has no Drive Mode Selector, but the SV and every trim above it add one with a Sport mode. None of this costs fuel economy, since the SV matches the S on its EPA estimate. The SV can also add a power moonroof for $650 at launch.

The SV Convenience Package, $990 at launch, is what makes this trim the pick for Central Indiana drivers. It warms both the front seats and the steering wheel. It also brings heated mirrors with LED turn signals, a wireless charger and six speakers instead of the standard four. With that package, an SV comes to $24,360 at launch, which is still $640 below an SR with no packages.

Pick the SV if you drive I-69 every weekday and want the best balance of price, comfort and fuel economy. If ProPILOT Assist is on your list, the SL or an SR with the Premium Package is the better fit, since the SV cannot add it. You can start shopping for a new Nissan with us anytime.

Sentra SR: The Sporty Look

Red 2026 Nissan Sentra SR

For drivers who want their compact sedan to look sporty, the 2026 Sentra SR is the trim, and when it launched it cost $1,630 more than the SV. It rides on 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels. A dark chrome grille and black side sill extensions set it apart. A black rear spoiler, a chrome exhaust finisher and red badging complete the look.

Inside, the SR has sport cloth seats with contrast stitching and a wrapped steering wheel. Several items that are optional on the SV come standard here, including the wireless charger, six speakers and heated mirrors with LED turn signals.

Compared with the two lower trims, the SR gives up 2 mpg on the EPA highway estimate.

Heated seats are not standard on the SR. Its All-Weather Package adds heated front seats, a heated wheel and dual-zone climate control for $650 at launch.

The SR's Premium Package costs $2,300 at launch. It brings ProPILOT Assist and Rear Automatic Braking to the sporty trim, along with the Intelligent Around View Monitor, which gives you a camera view around the car. It also adds Bose Premium Audio and a power driver's seat.

Adding the All-Weather and Premium packages brings an SR to $27,950 at launch, just $40 below the SL. Go with the SR if the bigger wheels and sport styling are what drew you to the Sentra. If you would add both packages anyway, look at the SL, which includes the moonroof; on the SR, it is a $650 option at launch. You can read more about the 2026 Sentra in our research overview.

Sentra SL: Comfort and Technology Included

Dark gray 2026 Nissan Sentra SL

When you want the most technology without adding a package, the 2026 Sentra SL is the trim to choose; at introduction it cost $2,990 more than the SR. These driver-assist features come standard on it:

  • ProPILOT Assist
  • Intelligent Cruise Control with full-speed range and traffic stop-and-go
  • Rear Automatic Braking
  • Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection
  • Rear Sonar System, which works as rear parking sensors
  • Lane Keep Assist with Cyclist Detection

On the SL, seat heaters, steering wheel heat and dual-zone automatic climate control all come standard. It adds a power tilt and sliding moonroof, a 6-way power driver's seat with power lumbar and Bose Premium Audio with 8 speakers. Its seats are quilted TailorFit synthetic leather in Gray/Blue.

Like the SR, the SL has a wireless charger and ambient lighting. It also gets the LED signature headlights and full-width signature taillight.

The SL's trade-off is style rather than equipment. It rides on 17-inch machined alloy wheels and skips the SR's sport exterior, and it shares the SR's fuel economy. The SL suits long interstate drives and anyone who wants every winter comfort feature from the factory. If you want that technology with the sportier look, an SR with its Premium Package is the closer match. For a wider look at the car, see our 2026 Sentra research overview.
