Altima Packages and What They Add

Nissan offers 2 packages for each Altima trim, and they don't cross over: SV packages fit only the SV, and SR packages only the SR. Each package is priced separately. All 4 add dual-zone automatic climate control; beyond that, here is what each one brings:

Package Price at Launch What It Adds
SV Special Edition $1,300 Features including a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a moonroof
SV Premium Package $3,000 Features including 19-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, ProPILOT Assist, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
SR Midnight Edition $2,000 New for 2026: a black V-motion grille, two-tone black roof, darkened window trim and badges, black 19-inch wheels and a moonroof
SR Premium Package $3,400 A moonroof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, ProPILOT Assist, a Bose® nine-speaker audio system, Intelligent Around View Monitor and more

ProPILOT Assist, a driver-assist feature, isn't standard on any 2026 Altima; it comes with either Premium package.

Which Altima Trim Should You Choose?

If price comes first, start with the SV. If you want the sport look and the bigger screen without a package, start with the SR. Then settle the drive and any package.

  • SV or SR

At launch, the SR cost $1,400 more than an SV with the same drive. That money buys the sport styling and handling hardware, plus the bigger touchscreen and a wireless phone charger as standard. If you'd rather stay with the SV, the $1,300 SV Special Edition adds that bigger touchscreen, a moonroof and dual-zone automatic climate control for about the same money.

  • Front-wheel or all-wheel drive

All-wheel drive added $1,500 to Nissan's launch MSRP on either trim, and each EPA rating drops by 1 to 3 mpg. Front-wheel drive keeps the higher ratings and the lower price. On the SR, only front-wheel drive comes with the sport-tuned suspension.

  • SR with FWD or SV with AWD

Nissan's MSRPs for these 2 versions were only $100 apart at launch. That makes it a choice between the SR's sport equipment and all-wheel drive on the SV.

  • An SV with a Premium package or a plain SR

Adding the SV Premium Package puts an SV's total MSRP above that of any SR with no package. You're weighing that package's comfort and driver-assist features against the SR's sport equipment. If you want both, add the SR Premium Package to an SR.

Engine, Drive and Fuel Economy

Every 2026 Altima uses a 2.5-liter direct-injection 4-cylinder engine with an Xtronic CVT, and it runs on regular unleaded fuel. Output and EPA ratings change with the drive, not the trim:

2026 Altima Front-Wheel Drive All-Wheel Drive
Horsepower 188 hp 182 hp
Torque 180 lb-ft 178 lb-ft
EPA city / highway / combined 26 / 36 / 30 mpg 25 / 33 / 28 mpg

These are EPA estimates, and actual mileage may vary. Moving up from the SV to the SR adds equipment and sportier hardware, but the power stays the same.

Before You Come In

Driving an Altima Around Fishers

Central Indiana winters bring cold, snow and road salt. If winter driving is what you plan around, look at Intelligent All-Wheel Drive on either trim, plus a Premium package for heated front seats. The SR Premium Package adds a heated steering wheel as well. If your miles are mostly I-69 and clear roads, front-wheel drive costs less and keeps the higher highway rating.
