4 Reasons to Love Living in Carmel, IN

4 Reasons to Love Living in Carmel, IN
Looking for an upscale community that has all the perks of a small town but is also close to a bustling large city? Look no further than Carmel, IN, which is one of the poshest areas in the state, but only has a little over 90,000 residents. However, this is only one reason why people love living in Carmel. Other reasons include its excellent schools, its family-oriented community, and its sophisticated and educated populace.

4 Reasons to Love Living in Carmel, IN

High Income, High Home Values

Carmel is known for its expensive houses and wealthy residents, but in reality, it isn't even one of the richest cities in America. In fact, it doesn't even make the top 10 richest communities in Indiana. However, it is one of the nicest suburbs of Indianapolis, with a median home value of $330,600. You can expect to find upper-middle-class families here, with homes that are larger than average. The house prices really aren't out of range, though, considering the median salary of residents in Carmel is $116,867 compared to the national median of $55,322. There are many jobs in the city and in nearby Indianapolis that are well-paying, allowing more people to move to this area than ever before. Of course, with a higher average income, you can be assured that the security is high in Carmel, making the crime rates lower as well.

Excellent Schools

This city's schools are rated A+, which is the highest score schools can be awarded. There are 42 public schools in Carmel, and all but 12 have a grade of A or A+. Only seven schools have an average rating of C. This means that no matter which school you choose in this town, your kids will get a stellar education. The city boasts the fourth-best public high and elementary schools in the state and the third-best middle school.

Family-Oriented Community

This city has been named the best place in Indiana to raise a family, mostly due to its schools, parks, and low crime rate. Parks and hiking trails are abundant, as are opportunities to participate in athletics and artistic endeavors. There is a thriving arts district in the downtown area and numerous high-quality restaurants call Carmel home as well. You will be amazed at all the family-friendly things to do without ever leaving town. More than 75% of the residents in this city own their own homes, which means it is a stable area in which to raise children. Your neighbors now are likely to be your neighbors a decade from now. Even though there are thousands of people in the city, everyone looks out for each other and will ensure your kids are safe when out of your sight.

Educated

Compared with most cities in Indiana, the residents of Carmel are highly educated and have an air of sophistication that is lacking in many areas. This is shown through the 72% of residents who have a bachelor's degree or higher and through the focus on museums, art, and other educational efforts put forth by the community. You will find that people enjoy spirited discussions and debates here, especially concerning local social issues. Many people who visit Carmel for the first time end up moving there because it is such a fantastic place to live. Time for New Tires? Visit Your Nissan Dealer Today

Tires are just as important to your safety on the road as your brakes. All it takes is a single puncture or moment of lost traction to potentially cause an accident. With this in mind, always watch out for the following indications of worn-down or damaged tires. If you notice any of these issues, it's a good idea to visit your local Nissan dealer for new tires as soon as you can. more Tread Depth Nears 2/32 of an Inch When your tires are brand new, the tread depth will be around 10/32 or 11/32 of an inch. Over time, this tread depth diminishes, until it becomes too shallow to safely hold traction on normal road surfaces. In the state of Indiana, the minimum legal tread depth is 2/32 of an inch for private vehicles and 4/32 of an inch for larger commercial vehicles. Make sure you replace your tires before the tread depth passes this limit. During winter, you may want to replace your tires when they reach about 5/32 of an inch as deeper treads are required to grip slippery winter roads. Overly Uneven Tire Tread Wear Tires tend to wear down at an uneven rate because there's an uneven distribution of weight and pressure at the front and rear of most cars. The tire movements during steering also result in a specific pattern of tread wear, and sometimes misaligned wheels or suspension can also cause uneven wear. Regular tire rotation will usually keep your tires from becoming too unbalanced. If you ever forget to have your tires rotated, they may become overly uneven, reducing your car's performance and potentially causing damage to other connected car parts. If your tires are very uneven, you may need to have all four replaced. Significant Cuts or Cracks in the Rubber Any cuts or cracks in the rubber of your tires that are deep enough to see the underlying layer put the tire at risk of blowing out. Shallow cracks or cuts that are over an inch in length, or reach around the edge of the tire, are also a danger to you on the road. Signs of Extensive Dry Rot Tires exposed to extremes in the weather or temperatures can sometimes develop dry rot. This rots and dries out the rubber, causing the tires to become brittle and dangerous to drive on. Dry rot usually makes the color of tire rubber fade from black to gray. If you think your tires may be worn out or damaged, visit Ed Martin Nissan of Fishers to have them replaced.
