Nissan’s Titan XD is the standard Titan’s slightly bigger brother, with the ability to carry and tow larger loads: perfect for owners in need of a heavy-duty work truck for everyday use. Like its sibling, this full-sized pickup brings a lot of dependable power and great technology to the table while offering plenty of creature comforts. Here’s your quick look into the 2023 Nissan Titan XD!

Powertrain

Just like other Titans, the XD has an impressive standard powerplant in the form of the naturally aspirated 5.6L Endurance V8 engine with dual overhead cams and Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL). VVEL technology takes continuous and full control of valve timing in order to deliver greater power and efficiency, helping the motor to produce 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque.

When designing the 9-speed automatic transmission that the engine couples with, Nissan’s engineers ensured that it would feature gear ratios that enabled strong acceleration and ultra-smooth shifts even as the truck carried large loads.

Towing and Hauling

While the original Titan towing setup is already impressive at 9,323 pounds, the Titan XD’s larger size and strengthened frame enable it to pull up to 11,033 pounds. Payload is also increased from 1,697 pounds to 2,406 pounds. Along with this increased capability, the larger Titan still boasts a great list of towing aids, including a tow-haul mode, trailer sway control, and a trailer light check system accessible from your Nissan Intelligent Key.

Pro-4X Model

The Titan XD features everything that makes for a strong off-roading vehicle: a rugged four-wheel drive system with shift-on-the-fly capability, a minimum clearance of around nine inches from the ground to the rear axle, and a heavily reinforced frame. The Pro-4x goes another step further with highly tuned Bilstein off-road performance shocks, chunkier and grippier all-terrain tires, large mud flaps, and a steel skid plate.

This trim also comes standard with an electronic locking rear differential that helps to greatly reduce traction loss in especially tricky environments. An exclusive off-road display in the middle of the instrument panel displays pitch, roll, and the engagement status of the four-wheel-drive system.

Passenger Cabin and Infotainment

All Titan XD models come as a crew cab with spacious and comfortable seating for up to five occupants. In fact, it’s so spacious that passengers in the rear seat can truly stretch out with 41.8 inches of legroom and up to 40.4 inches of headroom. An available heated steering wheel and seats, a memory system for the driver’s seat, and a dual-panel panoramic moonroof all come together to provide an inviting space.

The infotainment system is available with either an 8- or 9-inch with integration for iOS and Android phones, Bluetooth, and multiple USB ports. Long road trips can be extra fun when you add the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM radio, and a premium audio system by Fender.

If you’ve been desiring a bit of extra muscle to go with the Titan’s legendary dependability, then now’s the perfect time to experience it with the Titan XD! Call Ed Martin Nissan of Fishers today and schedule your test drive!
