Make Par at These 4 Carmel Golf CoursesCarmel, Indiana, is home to eight golf courses. One is a municipal course, and the others are either public or privately owned. Just outside of Carmel, another 54 courses are within 20 miles of the city. With so many courses in the area, you can always find the time and place for a round of golf. Grab your clubs and make par at these Carmel golf courses.

Plum Creek Golf Club

Plum Creek Golf Club is home to the 18-hole Plum Creek course. This public course has five sets of tees ranging from under 7,000 yards to just over 5,000, making it the perfect course for golfers of all levels. Throughout the grounds, you’ll encounter several ponds and a winding stream that makes its way along the greens. With all these obstacles, you’ll need to stay sharp as you play to minimize forced carries.

Brookshire Golf Club

Brookshire is an 18-hole course that sits about a mile from the center of Carmel. It has 6,300 yards of fairways, greens, and obstacles and a par of 72. This is a great course for beginners, but seasoned golfers will enjoy it, too. It features gently rolling terrain, and the beautiful Cool Creek winds through the course. Designed by architect William Diddel and built in 1970, Brookshire Golf Club is a popular course among Carmel residents. Each hole has four sets of tees so golfers can choose their own level.

Prairie View Golf Club

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Prairie View golf course sits on 206 acres near the White River. The course features rolling hills with oak and sycamore trees dispersed throughout. More than 80 bunkers, a stream, five lakes, and natural wetlands add to the challenge. The five sets of tees allow you to select your difficulty level. No matter what tee you choose, however, you’ll appreciate the well-maintained grounds and greens. Beginners enjoy this course just as much as seasoned players do.

Woodland Golf Course at Woodland Country Club

Try the Woodland Course at the Woodland Country Club for 6,614 yards of golf from the longest tees. This 18-hole championship course is another one originally designed by William Diddel. Recently, however, late golf course designer and architect Pete Dye gave it a complete renovation. Its bent fairways and greens will challenge golfers of all skill levels. The Woodland Country Club is a members-only club, with patrons also gaining access to the outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, fitness center, and several dining facilities.

The club offers junior golf for the kids and golf lessons for adults and children. The Gold Professional staff puts on several clinics a year, and seasoned professional golfers are on hand to teach private lessons.

Check out these Carmel golf courses the next time you want to play a round. Whether you’re a first-timer or a veteran golfer, you’ll have a blast getting outside and hitting the ball. With several public, private, and municipal courses nearby, you can try them all and choose your favorite.
