Finding a Quality Collision Repair for Your Nissan

Are you looking for quality collision repair for your Nissan? Visit your local Nissan dealer to have the vehicle restored by certified technicians. Dealership technicians can restore your Nissan to its pre-accident state and restore its safety and reliability. Here's why you should trust your local dealer over independent auto repair shops. more High-Tech Diagnostic Tools A collision can leave your Nissan with hidden damage. While a visual inspection may reveal obvious collision damage, it may miss hidden issues and lead to poor-quality repairs. Things like sensor issues, computer calibration faults, and mechanical problems can lurk unseen, only to cause problems later. Dealers have access to manufacturer-level diagnostic scan tools that can provide incredibly accurate vehicle data. This allows the technicians to make a full assessment and identify all hidden faults. This guarantees comprehensive repairs and avoids problems down the road. Factory-Trained Technicians Getting auto body repairs at the dealership gives you access to factory-trained technicians. The technicians undergo advanced training on the intricacies of Nissan vehicles and systems. The specialized knowledge and hands-on experience guarantee high-quality repairs that an independent auto body shop cannot match. Easy Access to OEM Parts Dealerships only use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts for all vehicle repairs. They stock most manufacturer-approved parts and can easily order rare components from the manufacturer for you. Using OEM parts comes with these benefits for your Nissan: Optimal fit, form, and functionality Better and longer performance Enhanced safety Better resale value OEM components can also save you money in the long run because they don't fail prematurely. Independent auto body shops tend to use aftermarket parts, which are of inferior quality and don't function as well as original ones. The parts can also cause other components to fail and void your factory warranty. Warranty-Backed Repairs Choosing the dealership for your repair needs means the repairs will be backed by the manufacturer's warranty. The OEM parts used also come with Nissan's parts warranty. This provides peace of mind and financial protection down the road. If a part fails because the original repairs somehow missed any related damage, the warranty will cover it. You can take the car back to the dealership for additional warranty work at no charge. The warranty will apply to all OEM parts installed by the dealer. Excellent Customer Service Through the repair process, your dealer's technicians and service team will provide excellent customer service. The experience starts with assistance filling out insurance paperwork and securing a loaner car during the repair work. The staff will keep you updated on the progress throughout the process. After repairs, the technicians will clean and detail your Nissan to restore it to like-new condition, both inside and out. If your Nissan has been damaged in an accident, you can rely on your local dealership for high-quality repairs and outstanding customer service. Time for New Tires? Visit Your Nissan Dealer Today

Tires are just as important to your safety on the road as your brakes. All it takes is a single puncture or moment of lost traction to potentially cause an accident. With this in mind, always watch out for the following indications of worn-down or damaged tires. If you notice any of these issues, it's a good idea to visit your local Nissan dealer for new tires as soon as you can. more Tread Depth Nears 2/32 of an Inch When your tires are brand new, the tread depth will be around 10/32 or 11/32 of an inch. Over time, this tread depth diminishes, until it becomes too shallow to safely hold traction on normal road surfaces. In the state of Indiana, the minimum legal tread depth is 2/32 of an inch for private vehicles and 4/32 of an inch for larger commercial vehicles. Make sure you replace your tires before the tread depth passes this limit. During winter, you may want to replace your tires when they reach about 5/32 of an inch as deeper treads are required to grip slippery winter roads. Overly Uneven Tire Tread Wear Tires tend to wear down at an uneven rate because there's an uneven distribution of weight and pressure at the front and rear of most cars. The tire movements during steering also result in a specific pattern of tread wear, and sometimes misaligned wheels or suspension can also cause uneven wear. Regular tire rotation will usually keep your tires from becoming too unbalanced. If you ever forget to have your tires rotated, they may become overly uneven, reducing your car's performance and potentially causing damage to other connected car parts. If your tires are very uneven, you may need to have all four replaced. Significant Cuts or Cracks in the Rubber Any cuts or cracks in the rubber of your tires that are deep enough to see the underlying layer put the tire at risk of blowing out. Shallow cracks or cuts that are over an inch in length, or reach around the edge of the tire, are also a danger to you on the road. Signs of Extensive Dry Rot Tires exposed to extremes in the weather or temperatures can sometimes develop dry rot. This rots and dries out the rubber, causing the tires to become brittle and dangerous to drive on. Dry rot usually makes the color of tire rubber fade from black to gray. If you think your tires may be worn out or damaged, visit Ed Martin Nissan of Fishers to have them replaced. We're a locally trusted dealership with highly qualified technicians and over 600 new Nissan vehicles in stock.

Brake pads being serviced near Fishers, Indiana

How Often Should You Replace Your Nissan's Brake Pads?

Brake pads are a consumable part of your braking system. They're essential, as they enable you to slow or stop your Nissan quickly and easily. Pads slowly degrade as they work, and eventually, you'll need to visit your Nissan dealer for replacements. We want to advise you on what your pads do and how often you should replace them. more What Do Pads Do? Pads fit into the brake calipers. A set of calipers is attached above each wheel rotor. When you hit the brake pedal, highly-pressurized brake fluid is forced into the brake hoses. The brake fluid forces the pins out of the calipers, and this action causes the calipers to clamp onto both sides of each wheel rotor. The pads then generate friction against the rotors to control your speed and stop your car. The pads have a 1/2" thick friction material covering to generate the required friction. The material covering gradually wears off due to friction with the rotors. Once the material covering reaches a thickness of 1/4", the pads need replacement. How Often Should You Replace Pads? Pads need to be replaced every 20,000 to 70,000 miles depending on the type of pads on your car and your model. The correct replacement time for your car's pads is listed in your car manual. Pads may also need to be replaced more regularly due to driving contusion, driving style, and worn or damaged rake components. Signs You Need Replacement Pads Many components give a clear indication that they're wearing out. These are a few of the signs that your pads and worn and it's time to replace them: Screeching Noises When a pad is reduced to 1/4" thickness, a metal spike installed in the material is revealed. This spike is built into the pad by the manufacturer, and it serves as a warning device. The next time you apply the brakes, the metal spike will scratch against the rotor surface and produce a loud screeching noise. The spike doesn't damage the rotor, but it does show that the pad has worn out and needs replacement. Grinding Noises A harsh grinding noise when you brake is a sign that one or more pads have completely worn out. Once the friction material covering has broken down, the metal pad will grip the rotor when you brake. This metal-on-metal contact will produce a grinding noise as the pad damages the rotor surface. If this happens, the pad must be replaced immediately to prevent permanent damage to the rotor. Worn pads increase your stopping distance and place unnecessary strain on your braking system. If your pads are due for replacement, call us right away at Ed Martin Nissan of Fishers.

At a Glance: The 2023 Titan XD

Nissan's Titan XD is the standard Titan's slightly bigger brother, with the ability to carry and tow larger loads: perfect for owners in need of a heavy-duty work truck for everyday use. Like its sibling, this full-sized pickup brings a lot of dependable power and great technology to the table while offering plenty of creature comforts. Here's your quick look into the 2023 Nissan Titan XD! more Powertrain Just like other Titans, the XD has an impressive standard powerplant in the form of the naturally aspirated 5.6L Endurance V8 engine with dual overhead cams and Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL). VVEL technology takes continuous and full control of valve timing in order to deliver greater power and efficiency, helping the motor to produce 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. When designing the 9-speed automatic transmission that the engine couples with, Nissan's engineers ensured that it would feature gear ratios that enabled strong acceleration and ultra-smooth shifts even as the truck carried large loads. Towing and Hauling While the original Titan towing setup is already impressive at 9,323 pounds, the Titan XD's larger size and strengthened frame enable it to pull up to 11,033 pounds. Payload is also increased from 1,697 pounds to 2,406 pounds. Along with this increased capability, the larger Titan still boasts a great list of towing aids, including a tow-haul mode, trailer sway control, and a trailer light check system accessible from your Nissan Intelligent Key. Pro-4X Model The Titan XD features everything that makes for a strong off-roading vehicle: a rugged four-wheel drive system with shift-on-the-fly capability, a minimum clearance of around nine inches from the ground to the rear axle, and a heavily reinforced frame. The Pro-4x goes another step further with highly tuned Bilstein off-road performance shocks, chunkier and grippier all-terrain tires, large mud flaps, and a steel skid plate. This trim also comes standard with an electronic locking rear differential that helps to greatly reduce traction loss in especially tricky environments. An exclusive off-road display in the middle of the instrument panel displays pitch, roll, and the engagement status of the four-wheel-drive system. Passenger Cabin and Infotainment All Titan XD models come as a crew cab with spacious and comfortable seating for up to five occupants. In fact, it's so spacious that passengers in the rear seat can truly stretch out with 41.8 inches of legroom and up to 40.4 inches of headroom. An available heated steering wheel and seats, a memory system for the driver's seat, and a dual-panel panoramic moonroof all come together to provide an inviting space. The infotainment system is available with either an 8- or 9-inch with integration for iOS and Android phones, Bluetooth, and multiple USB ports. Long road trips can be extra fun when you add the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM radio, and a premium audio system by Fender. If you've been desiring a bit of extra muscle to go with the Titan's legendary dependability, then now's the perfect time to experience it with the Titan XD!
